It's all changing here at 209 and we hope to have your support...
In February, we welcomed the arrival of our beautiful baby girl, Alba. Many of you will have already met her—whether in the restaurant or around Farndon and Chester. More often than not, she's happily strapped to Anna's front during a morning walk or even while brunch service is in full swing.
Becoming parents has given us a fresh perspective. It's made us realise just how precious and fleeting time is, and how important it is for us to make the most of these early years together as a family.
When we opened 209, our dream was always to create a restaurant. To get up and running as quickly and sustainably as possible, we launched with both brunch and dinner. Two years on, we're incredibly proud of what we've built, but we feel the time is right to focus fully on the restaurant we always envisioned—continuing to develop our evening offering and the ethos that sits at its heart.
With that in mind, we've made the difficult decision to bring our indoor brunch service to an end. Alongside this, we'll be renovating the restaurant to create a more refined and immersive dining experience for our evening guests.
So, what does this mean for you?
From 8am–11am, our window hatch will be open serving coffee, pastries and cake. You'll still be able to grab your morning coffee to take away or enjoy it in our garden seating area, but we will no longer be offering indoor brunch as the restaurant will be dedicated to preparing for evening service.
This feels like a big leap into the unknown, and if we're honest... it's a little daunting! But we're incredibly excited about this next chapter and hope you'll continue to support us as Restaurant 209 becomes exactly what we always dreamed it would be—a restaurant first and foremost.
Most importantly, this change will also allow us to spend more precious time together as a family while continuing to do what we love. We can't wait to welcome you for coffee in the mornings and to share this next chapter with you around our dinner tables.
Our new opening times will be:
Wednesday - Sunday : 8am - 11am : Coffee, Pastry, Cake (takeaway or outside only)
Wednesday - Saturday : 5.30pm onwards : Evening Menu & Wine
